The Army Commendation ribbon, authorized after December 6, 1941, is bestowed to Army personnel for acts of heroism, meritorious achievement, or service that do not qualify for the Bronze Star Medal, typically outside of operational zones. This ribbon should be displayed on an official United States Army uniform with Bronze Letter devices. Army Commendation Ribbons are not mounted and do not include a holding bar.
